Comme des Garcons SS92 Polka Circles Balloon Pants Canon to the history of Anti-Fashion, Rei Kawakubo marked a series of firsts giving her the title 'renegade of fashion' alongside with Yamamoto. Her Spring/Summer 1992 collection started the trend of the 'unfinished.' For Rei, making clothes that seem to be still 'under construction' remains more interesting than complete collections and tailored styles. The unfinished look purports a question of 'what is next?.' This is the pant/skirt version of the Polka Balloon piece featured in the runway made from 100% Rayon. The Polka Circles detailing is made through spinning additional material on the pattern instead of adding an embroidery or patchwork. The hems are unfinished just like how Rei Kawakubo liked it.
